Thank you for these amazing lessons!
You're very welcome! Thank you so much!
Finally getting guitar wisdom after watching you videos on youtube. I'm an intermediate player and hoping to improve in improvisation, learn a lot of triads and more styles like soul and jazz. Love you Tomo Sensei!
Thank you so much! Yes! You can. Just in case, you want to watch beginner series & theory section so that you can improve your playing! Triads are very important.
idk wtf is going on and im only on episode 6... so lost
Don't worry. New information can be confusing at first.
When I first started a while back, I kept coming back, week after week and absorbing new knowledge each time. I didn't worry about knowing everything at once or if I was learning everything in the proper order. It's enough for me to sit in the presence of an accomplished master.
Eventually, we will learn enough that we will be able to help others.
We all have an opportunity to learn here at Tomo Fujita Music. Relax and enjoy!
Same for me last month. Tomo is like a masterclass teacher. People at Berklee already know how to play guitar before enrolling. What I do is for anything that I do not understand here, I go find it on youtube because there's a lot of beginner tutorials there for absolute beginners like myself. My advice is that you go to someone on youtube like Justin guitar, BUT you NEED to go back to Tomo for proper technique. I am on Fenderplay as well just for a more structured approach, but Tomo's way is cleaner. I just manage to integrate Tomo's teaching to other beginner tutorials. I follow Tomo's techniques, but other people's structure. Remember to always go back to Tomo once you get the basic understanding of whatever it is you are learning.
Now we have more lessons and you just cannot lost if you learn theory section! And more! Thank you so much for sharing!
To JepsJP, Thank you for sharing! Now we have more simple lessons and more organized than the beginning. We added "Beginner Series" Thank you so much!
Hi all,
I signed up last week and after Owning a guitar for more than 25 years I decided to learn to play it.
I've gone right back to the beginner lessons and still found some useful information in their. I have to admit as soon as I move into the Foundation and Technique I do get lost quite quickly. I think this is probably because of my reliance so far on tablature and chord diagrams.
Will keep going and work it out.
I love Tomo's enthusiasm style, and sense of humor. He shows great humility, which is rare for someone with his amazing talent.
You very well described Tomo, he is also an amazing blues player
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that! Good job! Great way to start! That case, review lessons deeper! Thanks so much!
To Peter Kertesz, Thank you so much for your comment!
Hello! My name is Lorenzo. I have 22 years old. I'm From Buenos Aires, Argentina and I've been playing guitar for 9 years but with stoppages due to frustration or boredom (jaja). With Tomo I found a serious teacher that adjust perfectly to this moment of my "guitar road" so, I'm very excited to learn of Tomo Sensei.
Lorenzo.
Thank you so much! Thank you for sharing! So happy to hear that! So excited! From Boston!
It is an awesome experience for me to have an access to all of your guitar wisdom Tomo, I really enjoy and admire your work sir but mostly of your blues demos at the moment.
I wish that you will share much more of them in the future (If you could please consider to have them without any pop ups and with the option to change the speed/slow down of the videos), like of those 024,033,042,052.. They are absolutely amazing, really inspirational pieces for me, the E blues March/Shuffle is mind blowing, super clean and sharp guitar play, I can't believe it. Also please make blues demos of the amazing Muddy Waters style if you have a chance. Sorry for my too many requests :) Thank you very much for all of the creators of the website for sharing, looking forward to going through of it of the following years!
Thank you so much for sharing! So happy to hear that! I am remaking older videos. A little more work! Definitely I need to make more blues lesson videos! Thank you so much! More requests is good! I am looking forward to making more lesson videos!
I'm a new subscriber, play piano (mostly classical stuff) for fun, and am now trying to learn jazz guitar. Tomo, your teaching style is perfect for me. I want to learn to improvise, and follow the chord changes, and I can now play your Lesson 029 Bb jazz blues solo. I'm learning so much and I only just subscribed two days ago. Thank you!
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that! I follow chords! Triads are so good! Good job! You're very welcome!
Just subscribed I was on the fence, b his recent video on self learning spoke volumes I subscribe to a guitar learning service nothing wrong it , but I am not where I should be in my guitar development, many holes , and the way he teaches just hits the right note for me, I decided to get back to basics and fill the holes, but so far I am enjoying the lessons,
Thank you so much! You can fill any holes with good foundation! Intervals, triad inversions! So much fun! Guitar makes me so humble and makes my life so rich inside! Basics is not easy thing... important valuable thing! So happy to hear that!
hi I took up the guitar rather late ( a year ago ) and jumped into classical guitar, however I have always been inspired by the blues , 70's and 80's rock...... so like any enthusiastic newbie, i bought myself an electric guitar which has been lying around unused.... so i guess its time for me to get going.
I resonated with Tomo and his approach to learning music, I hope to learn a lot here.... Cheers Arvind ( from India )
Thank you for sharing! Blues is so good for your soul! Yes! Good job! So happy to hear that! Guitar is so good!
Hi everyone! I just joined and wanted to say hi to everyone and that it is such an honor to learn with Tomo Fujita! Thank you, I am 100% sure that i will be enjoying my learning journey here!
Thank you so much! So happy to hear that! I am very happy! You're very welcome! Please enjoy your journey!
Thank you so much Tomo and George for putting this website of online lessons for those of us who find it hard to commit set times and dates for fixed lessons overseas.
Tomo's personality on YouTube and simple advice to "not compare", "be patient", and "be kind to yourself" is fantastic in this Covid era.
I have been very much a basic open chords and barred chords person, while learning to play a little melody over.
Your triads lessons in this site's beginner series, and the G chord voicings, are must-see mind-blowing stuff!
As I start to make sense of triads and try to memorise their locations, I realise I can alternate more triad layers to loops to make it more interesting. Thank you so much Tomo Fujita for opening my mind!
You're very welcome! Thank you for sharing! Those Wisdom Words are so important! Even those open chords. They are triads! You can make some melodies too. Try not memorize them! Be familiar with them super slowly so you can hear them & you can play them in time. Triad inversions are so good! So happy to hear that! Thank you so much!
Just signed up today! I bought my little Squier when I was 14, idolizing Jimi Hendrix and wishing I could be a musical star... I learned open chords but I didn't play for 15+ years. At age 31 I have learned and changed a lot about myself through life. After making an electronic album (website in my bio) I realized I still have a passion for music.
I have practiced everyday for five months, coming up to late beginner / intermediate level, and after watching a lot of Tomo's youtube channel decided I should take the plunge for the subscription. Looking forward to learning a lot and making great music!

Thank you so much! Great story! Thank you for sharing! Don't be fool by those labels or names... Beginner... Intermediate... Advanced... etc. Learn more intervals, triad inversions without memorizing them. So you can improve your playing much more!
