Sight reading 《sea to sat》1~8 bar ,guitar one and two.
Every day learn one chord about Bb Blues root 3rd 7 swing.

Me too! :D Im always thinking about this! Even outside siting in a coffee if i see a 5 lines pattern somewhere (like in a car front grille) I start putting notes there in my mind 😅
Fall asleep thinking on notes ascending and descending and making alternations and imagining on the fretboard. I guess we also learn like this maybe

Best dream ever:
Dreaming Tomo's cats Max and Dexter have an animated TV series based on their illustrated children's paper book- book. They sing and jam on their theme song " Be Kind To Yourself " Written by Tomo and Randy Newman!
Each episode Max and Dexter meet someone who needs help and they get Tomo and Sammi to help them. It might be a stranger, another animal. Maybe one of Tomo's students. Tomo dispenses wisdom, problems get solved. Towards the end of each episode there is a chase scene with Just Funky playing.
Always a funny and happy last scene.

Speaking of books, Tomo's Etude book in all Japanese comes with a killer CD of Tomo playing all the tunes. If anyone doesn't have that book, they need it eventually. That book and Guitar Wisdom helped me learn Room 418 a couple years ago. The transcriptions are unbelievably accurate. EVERY little detail!

The picks are so awesome. I’ve got the TF Gw T shirt in black too it’s nice. Need a hoodie next yes very cold in Boston Kurt. Going to be close to 0 degrees F this week. Its a good call Kurt think one day in a drop down in the guitar wisdom to shop and buy merch maybe also links to equipment Tomo uses currently so we can improve our sound by both technique and equipment. Snow in Nawlins! Who’d a thunk it?! What you described Alan sounds like super productive practice.

To allow the subconscious to do all its background magic I try to limit practice to 40-60 minute chunks. Then it’s break time and I start my stopwatch, get up and do other things I need to do, glancing occasionally at the stopwatch; when 10-15 minutes have gone by I go back to the practice room feeling re-energized and enthusiastic to resume. I’m calling this “brain recycling”.

For me, the focus that Tomo invites us to employ in every practice session has a wonderful hidden benefit of translating to greater concentration when playing songs, whether by myself or with others. I feel calmer, and more focused, and able to recover faster if I get anxious or make mistakes. So concentration is a wonderful side effect from practicing the Guitar Wisdom. way!

Yes Ken! This is helpful I feel best with shorter practice sessions with breaks. If I can go outside for a few minutes, it really seems to re-energize me. Of course, if it were snowing and I was on Bourbon Street I might not stop my break.

Hi Tomo,
I'd love to see a video sometime and learn your thoughts on guitar body types and other differences and advantages and disadvantages etc.
The electric guitar I've had the longest is my low end 1984 Made in Japan Telecaster, (Butters). It has the most comfortable neck for me. I've played it the most over the years but not as much after I contracted G,A,S, about 20 years ago. Stil when I go back to it, I notice how I play cleaner and more accurately.

Play it slow & change positions?

It is more about at which beat, that is, when exactly to start the phrases during bars 9 and 10 than being able to make it in time. For first eight bars i start the phrases at the & of 3 (where the count is 1 e & 2 e & 3 e & 4 e &) such that the last note falls on the 1 of the next bar and from the & i continue with bass line. Fits nicely. But then bars 9 and 10 dont sound so nice when done that way and i havent found the alternativa i am happy with.

I hear you, and agree, Sergio!
It takes me a massive amount of repetition for stuff to sink in. I need to watch the videos over and over and come back to them a lot over a long time to understand all that he is covering. Sometimes it's hard to focus the whole time. I heard once that the brain gets tired of learning the same stuff over and over and will eventually store the information in your long-term memory, so it doesn't have to keep re-learning it.

I hear you. One thing that I've found is that I can't work on any one thing for more than 10-15 minutes. After that I feel like I'm doing more forgetting than learning. More mistakes, more frustration. I've found that 3 or 4 15 minute practice sessions is better for me than a singe hour long practice.

As the saying goes “some days are diamonds some days are stones”. We’re all hanging on by a thread sometimes, but we keep going. It’s always changing, and thank goodness for that! Enjoy the weekend as well Sergio!
