Got it. Two rounds of playing by feel. Then a round or two following the chords. I like this idea of having an approach and knowing both ways. Beautiful sound in the first part. Incredible blistering amount of notes played on the second part! So good.

Thank you Ken. This Strat has the TF funkmaster grinning dog pickups which I put in my telecaster too. These pickups have been a treat for me to be able to experience. Also encourages you not to pick so hard. Which I still do but then you hear bad noises. It’s helping me to think about this more actively. Still need to thank shinji.

Thank you for making this video for us Tomo. This is great rundown of how we can approach learning song.

1 Listen deeply before doing anything* I think this is something that gets overlooked. Easy to reach for out guitar soon to see if we can play a part of the song before really knowing it.. I know I’ve done this many many times. This was a big takeaway for me from your video.

2 so have to be able to hear the song. Chord changes. melody.

3 Play the triads following the chord changes to help physically later when trying to visualize what you are hearing in your head.
Then maybe listen more and can try to put all together.

I don’t hear the jazz phrasing that you hear and play naturally /are doing there at the 9minite mark. Excited to listen to more jazz looking forward to it!

The dude is my gardener, meant to tell him to put a shirt on and some sunscreen! (he kinda reminds me of some of Kurt’s photos that he shared!).
Scale is Lydian (super locrian is too dissonant for sweet hummingbirds).
Actually, he’s one of two statues my Mom brought over from Italy and eventually gave to me. He’s a mythical ’Fauno”; the other is a maiden-servant carrying water. She’s a lot nicer to look at!
P.s. I thought mosquitoes proliferate in wet areas like, I don’t know…further north maybe?

My new baby kitties enjoyed watching. They spotted the "sharp 4" hummingbirds immediately.
