I agree johno. Lesson 21 is tricky and HL nails it at full speed.

My favorite of his examples is P. 36 because he has his cool sweater on :-)

Nice to meet you, Johno! Thank you for your kind words. P21 I keep every chord short to create a bouncing feeling. Yet Tomo suggested that try to sustain a little bit longer when practice. I did it and I improved my finger control a lot. Interesting, isn't?

Still your tone is a little muddy. Do you record with one mic that get your guitar sound & your room sound right? Not direct recording without an amp.... then NO GOOD!

Your guitar volume is not full 10 right?
Should be around 7-8... and loud enough.

Thank you for so many useful messages. Busy with work these two days and sorry for the delay. Here's my case:

1）In the videos before I used an amp: record with a cell phone and too much noise.
2）In this video I didn't use an amp: record directly with a sound card. Both the tone and the volume is full. Use the pickup near the bridge of the guitar.

In short, I didn't use an amp this time because there is too much noise in my room. And I'm wondering how you do it? what's the good way of recording?

In order to improve your playing.
Please use an amp even thought a little noisy.

Amp setting: Use less gain and more volume. More treble & less bass.
Your guitar volume never goes to full 10... if you do this... no dynamics!
You want to feel a little uncomfortable to play.

When you record, you need to recored with simple device that capture the sound of room!
air in that room with your guitar sound.

First I set my guitar volume around 6-7... no more than 8.
Use less gain and more volume from amp.
This way, slightly less noise.

You can use your iPhone for simple recording for Guitar Wisdom.
My GW additional videos are all by my iPhone.

Thank you Tomo, for sharing your amp settings. Following your guidance, I made a TESTING recording to comfirm. It's a little hard to mute because the string gets easy to ring. So sensitive. Could you please help?

Chord etude No.2 is beyond my ability. I can't do it well right now. I want to pick a simpler song to practice.Maybe for the next video, I'll go back to the beginning and review, working on dynamics. What would you suggest?
