Happy Funk Friday!
The video Clay shared 2 weeks ago with the choreography reminded me of this...hope it counts as Funk, I think Jungle is pretty genre-bending :)
It swings quite well and makes me feel it's a "progression" of an existing genre with modern elements added. E.g. I found similar Bee Gees feel vocal techniques but they are differently implemented. There's main verse/chorus structure but it appears shorter than older songs and gets repeated more. The ending parts are different and refreshing too haha, as if it's making us conscious that we were listening to a song with a "post-song" outro.
For "funk", I don't know. Tomo's Just Funky's intro guitar muted note scrapes may be more funky.
Feels so nice to listen in the evening or before bed. Thanks for the recommendation!

Hell yeah Sammi! It reminds me of when funk was just evolving out of Motown.
