Thanks to Tadashi and Linda's examples (and Linda's harmonic tip) I decided to give it a try!
Great work, Andy! The sound is really clean. Elbow muting is all the rage right now! Let's keep it going!
Awesome Andy - that sounded great!
Thanks for the nice words Tadashi and Clay. Elbow muting ftw!
Great job Andy! Much clearner and your tone is so good! You got my elbow muting! A-9 & D7(b9) very jazzy!
Tomo
Thanks, Tomo. Yeah, those jazzy chords are so much fun to play. I'm glad the tone is good — my pickups were very noisy (maybe a lot of em radiation in my practice area) so I bought noiseless ones (and a soldering iron) and replaced them. The tone of the neck pickup isn't quite as good in my opinion, but close enough.
I'm also glad to hear it was cleaner. I am working on my muting through R37 swing groove, chromatic exercise, and the warmup (triplet) etude that you recently introduced in a Youtube video. I do those 3 every day.
