Hi, why when bending tomo lifts his guitar so hard?

I understood, and changed my gripping technique but i dont find it necessary to lift your guitar just as much as Tomo do...

Is there any secret behind it?

I don't notice him lifting his guitar that much.... but he often bends to two separate notes. Most people bend a full step, where Tomo bends a half and another half and gets three notes out of one location.
