Hello Tomo and fellow guitarists!
I have signed up for tomo Fujita lessons as I saw a video on you tube of him with his students improvising over 'sunny'. I asked him a question there and he told me to sign up (which was amazing!)
The lessons are really great but most of the first lessons that I have watched I already know, so I just wanted to see if I really need to watch every lesson from the beginning. In the other hand it is quite hard to find where to start if not following the order of the website.
I love playing jazz and bossa nova, and I have practiced a lot on chord changes and progressions but never really practiced soloing.
I know how to place chords in between, like diminished, b5, 13, etc but I would love to know how to use these chords to improvise on solos. The! scales that I can use or licks...
My question is: Can I go to an specific section or should I just watch them all?
Thank you so much!
Leo.
Ive discovered that the theory section is kind of the starting point. Outside of that, there is an intermingling of some entry, but mainly medium and advanced technicians. I would just jump to the jazz section if that is what you are interested in. IMO if you want to solo over jazz just snag the dorian scale and go to the section called TF Backing Tracks and you will see a number of jazz/blues tracks from Tomo. His doesn’t provide any PDFs or recommend just memorizing a pattern, but just goofing off with a backing track can quickly help you obtain the ‘feel’ of jazz.
