Hello!
I wonder if I can get some guidance on what electric guitar and amplifier to buy if I'm a beginner.
To clarify, I own an acoustic guitar! But I find it difficult for me to bend the strings in the middle. I don't know if I'm just making excuses or if I need to consider getting different gear to practice bends.
For the guitar, I was thinking of a Squier Bullet.
I read in an interview that Tomo-Sensei liked using his Fender Musicmaster bass amp to practice.
I was thinking of using a Fender Mustang I V.2, because it has the '59 Bassman preset.
Also, I am a bit scared of buying equipment. Everything has a Prop 65 warning on it! Should I be worried?
Thank you so much for your help!
Here is Tomo's reply:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. I am doing some research on that question right now, so I bought a Squier Bullet Telecaster for $179 with free shipping. I have not played it yet, but it's looking good!
"About your amp … I am investigating lower priced amps. The Fender Frontman G10 is small and inexpensive with a good sound. Just don’t buy an amp with too many knobs and functions . . .
"If you are using an acoustic guitar, you can try it with an electric guitar string like the D’Addario EXL 115 (11 - 49), which would be good for bending."
