Did the Vimeo team respond to your request? I am aware that Vimeo has been slow to respond to certain other requests for help. Vimeo is based in New York, the epicenter of the pandemic in the United States.

I will follow up with Vimeo as best I can. Meanwhile, if you have never been able to play any of the videos here, please check the FAQ on this site, and be sure that you are using a compatible web browser and all the correct settings at your connection point.

If everything is in order at your end, we will need to figure out what is happening to the video stream between New York and Jakarta. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks for hanging in there! We have subscribers from 70 countries, including 10 subscribers from Indonesia. I do not believe that geography is the problem.

I have submitted a support request to Vimeo, and I have received an automated reply informing me that I will need to wait for a longer than usual period, due to the pandemic. I still do not have access to the Vimeo network status page. This is quite unusual.

Meanwhile, here are the browser recommendations from the Vimeo FAQ:

Update: the Vimeo network infrastructure is, for the most part, operating normally. Vimeo has been experiencing some performance issues related to thumbnails. This may explain the blank screen that you have seen.

And it works finally

Thanks for your kind words. Buffering and freezing have been reported by a number of subscribers who stream from YouTube and Netflix without any difficulties. One subscriber recently reported that turning off add blockers or pop-up blockers resolved this issue. Another possible remedy is to reduce your streaming resolution (to as low as 240p) in the video player. In any case, when I work with video, a wired connection and Google Chrome always provide me with a better experience than a Wi-Fi connection or any other browser.

I wish that I could be more helpful. If subscribers continue to experience these difficulties after the current crisis has passed and our lives approach something closer to normal, Tomo and I will consider migrating to another platform. Stay safe and healthy!

There has been a major outage on the Vimeo platform (on 5/1) since 12:28 PM EDT. The cause of the outage "has been identified and a fix is being implemented" at this time, according to Vimeo.
