Hey stupid question that I haven't tried googling....
I know the 5 pentatonic shapes and can connect them; learned via the cage method.
I really like Tomo's approach, which seems to avoid shapes and play single octave patterns, understanding the details regarding intervals and harmonies.
In terms of communicating.
Is there a position 1, position 2, position 3, so on and so forth.
So if I'm talking to other musicians and say I'm playing C Major Scale in 3rd position, what does that mean in relation to single octave patterns.
Does that mean I'm playing a position of C Major scale where C (Root) is on the X String, Fret...etc
Thanks Boyd
