MuseScore 3. It is open source with good support/training videos available on YouTube. Worth the time-and-energy if you transcribe and/or song-write. I highly recommend it!

So not even a week later as I am deeply aprreciating the lessons being taught--I am also reminded of the CAGED system comment above, or more appropriately, how my continuing and growing thoughts on that comment and how I alone think TFGW departs from this and other such sytems. I decided to update my thoughts here as sort of a journalistic approach to how my understanding develops. I see this wisdom as freeing the musician, especially the guitarist from shape-pattern recognition. As TF speaks, very few instruments lend themselves to such teaching--only the guitar can an total non musician pick up, memorize a few shapes or patterns--and reproduce these to = making music happen (of course so much of what we consider music is in the way we individually execute those patterns with emotion, spirit, energy, feeling....) ....I would say I digress but this entire entry is one giant digression. If one can learn how sounds/notes progress, and knowing it such a way as one would memorize a shape in to absolute muscle-memory ability to replicate, the fretboard is yours to enjoy within, and dancing circles around, any possible shape or pattern. I am not sure that this babbling of my mind will be understandable to anyone but me....but I hope to see how I continue to develop my own understanding of this method and am recording it here to come back to. Okay, enough with distractions, back to practice...
