Hey guys, general question about a looper; "Ditto Looper".

I record 4 bars of my chords.
Em, C, G, D

Then I overdub by clicking my footswitch.

The behavior I want is that it plays my 4 bars over and over again and i can play a dub like my triads 16 bars.

Then i can play the loop 16 bars and solo over it.

The problem is, I record four bars then overdub and it only lets me overdub 4 bars. It doesn't let me dub 16 bars.

Let me know if that makes sense and if it's a limitation of my looper or if I'm doing something wrong?

Create a 16 bar loop.

Hi Boyd - the ditto only lets you overdub the original recording. You can't change the number of repeats of the loop after you've recorded - you only get one repeat but I think it's got 5mins of record time so you'll have plenty of space to play the 16 bars. I've got the ditto x2 which behaves like regular ditto but you can half the speed and rewind the loop for some nice effects but it's still one of the simpler loopers out there.

I am also curious about Tomo's looper setup where he can pause and play the loop at certain part of his playing. Does anyone here know about his setup? I've been focusing on the foundation and theory lesson so far. I haven't really seen all the lessons yet so I don't know if there is a lesson about gear setup and recording, mic-ing tricks, etc.

I don't think Tomo's loopers any different than the ditto.

I think he's overdubbing the initial 4 measures with with the triads on each bar, so it's just becoming super fat.

I thought when i first watched it that it was 16 bars of triads played at different positions.
