Hi All,
I just wanted to mention how valuable this lesson is. I've been a student here for nearly a couple of months, and Tomo, I love your work, it's taken my playing miles. This lesson is so valuable in reminding what soloing is all about, namely chord tones, melody, really coming from understanding the harmony and chord progressions. I've looked at this lesson for the third time today and really find so much value in it, I know it means facing the fact that my improvising level is not where I want it to be, but serves as a reminder for putting the work into understanding fully the harmony that lies underneath, the theory behind the music, and I know that with time and the work I am putting in, I will get my playing level to where I want it to be.
Thanks Tomo for all the work you put into this. At times it can feel frustrating because your approach really focuses on stripping back and focusing on the fundamentals, but it helps me to realise that stripping back to the basics, learning and honing my skills on the fundamentals, triads etc. is what is important. My favourite lesson so far!
Tomo and I would like to thank you for your kind words. We are delighted to see that these lessons are working well for you, and for so many others!
