Hey Tomo, what string gauge do you recommend for someone just starting the course?
Here is Tomo's reply:
"I recommend 10 - 46, but if you prefer 09 - 42, that's fine too."
Hi Matt!
First and foremost, I'm no expert, I've just started the guitar journey. But I hope I can help you.
I assume you are talking about strings for an electric guitar right?
Either way, I found this article about strings for beginners (for all guitars), check it out: https://www.musicalley.com/best-guitar-strings-for-beginners/
Because I don't intend to be a musician, I only love music and mostly playing for myself, I wanted to use comfortable strings that bring brightness and quality to my guitar playing, but at the same time not having to spend a lot of money when I can barely play well.
The guy from the store recommended me the Ernie Ball Hybrid .9 gauge strings ().
I think they are good starting point because the first 3 strings are from the .9 gauge set and the last three are from the .10 set if I recall correctly.
I hope that anyone who has better knowledge about this can orient both of us, but if that's not the case, I hope what I wrote helps you.
Cheers
I use this hybrid 9-46, it's perfect for my strat, amd for me.
What type of guitar are you playing? Do you know the scale length?
Hey Brandon, I play a Fender Strat and its scale length is 25.5 inches.
