Hi
This maybe a stupid question, but if you play in the key of C major for example, some notes of the C major scale are played as a major chord and others are played as a minor. When do I have to play a major or a minor chord? Is there a certain rule?
Thanks alot in advance.

"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. The C Major scale sounds great over a CMaj7 chord. Please watch the 'Dorian mode' video to understand more about minor scales. Don’t worry about rules! Learn more about each scale's sound, and don’t expect one quick answer. Take your time, so that you will understand musically."
