Tomo has said in the past to try a set of flat wound string's. I think they are amazing. The remove string noise, and feel great. Can someone tell me the downside of them besides the price? Why don't More people use them?

"Good topic! I love the way Jimmie Vaughan plays. Jimmie told me that he uses flat wound strings and just replaces the wound G string with a plain G string. With flat wound strings, I am just looking for a certain tone.
"The downside is that you cannot hear string noise with flat wound strings. So, I don’t play with these on my main guitar. I play with regular strings, so that I can hear any noise and work on my fundamental technique."
