I would enjoy watching a fundamentals of tone video with Tomo. Perhaps focusing on achieving a variety of nice tones with only the guitar and amp controls (no pedals). For example, what makes for a nice rhythm tone vs a lead tone and how might I adjust my pickup selection, tone knobs, and picking dynamics to get those tones? I think having a good foundation here would make all the lessons that involve layering rhythm and lead loops more enjoyable. I really enjoy Tomo's teaching style and I think a lesson from him on this topic could help my ear notice things that it might not quickly notice on it's own.
Thanks for your comment. Tone is one of Tomo's favorite topics, and there will be more videos related to this topic. Meanwhile, please check out Lesson 12 and Lesson 57, to learn about the guitar and amp settings that Tomo recommends for practice. Also, I recommend that you listen attentively to tone (with good headphones) in the Demos on this site. Finally, you could check out the "Wisdom" page at tomojustfunky.com for occasional posts about settings and tone.
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Hi Mike. Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. So great to see that you enjoy my teaching style! I just recorded a new video about amp and guitar setup. That video will be posted soon on Guitar Wisdom, and in the future, I will make more videos on these topics."
