So I'm in lesson 014 and Tomo has been introducing a lot of new chords. He also tells us to understand where the Root is (obviously) but also the other notes (if there's a 7b or a 4M or something like that). My question is, do I have to memorize which one is the 7b and which one is the 4M, or just understanding the scale behind the chord and understanding why it is a 7b or a 4M?

Understand each degree/interval by studying them super slowly -- like Root b7 M3 or Root M3 b7, etc. Please learn triads with Do Mi So / Mi So Do / So Do Mi. Think a lot, when you are practicing."
