Hello, so I have a question on how to approach ear training.
I have practised to the point where I can hear every interval (Isolated). But as soon as a melody is being played that is not familiar, I fail to hear the interval between every single note. I just hear the flavor of the pattern of notes. But sometimes I end up being confused by the chords or bass underneath.
For example If I listen to a major triad where every note is being played after each other. I do not hear a major third and then a minor third, I hear the sum which is a major triad. So as soon as it gets more complicated I end up not knowing what is going on.
How should I approach this, because learning intervals is helpful but I always have the previous notes in the back of the head, which ends up messing with the next interval.
My goal is really being able to transcribe
*anything* in maybe 20 years. So I really want to know how to get there.

Here is Tomo's comment:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. I think you are doing a good job with basic ear training, singing and triads. Do more singing, and learn triads (3 ways) in F, Bb, Eb and maybe other keys.
"Learn more simple chord changes, and apply triads over these changes. Try some simple songs, chord progressions and melodies. Then, analyze them, so that you will understand how intervals move in real songs."
