So I didn't understand if Tomo wants us to learn that insane rythm from lesson 14, I've already tried to do it for like 3 weeks and it seems very high level for the lesson we're at.
He said it was only an example and continued with the 4 note voicings, so I don't really know if he intends us to learn that rythm.
I think the main thing is he wants us to learn the 4-note chord voicing for 7th chords, not just the shape but also the intervals. As he repeatedly showed on his hand written example, the intervals are all R M3 5 and b7 arranged into different inversions.
The example I think is to show what you can do when you can comfortably switch between voicing of the same chord... so in a way it's kind of a proficiency exercise. You can try his "funk" example at a slower tempo or you can start at a pace similar to the lesson 9 triad lesson - slow Bb blues. Then, as you become more comfortable, you can speed up a little and eventually try his example up to the tempo.
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. Do as much as you can. (This applies to all the lessons!) If you have a little trouble doing or understanding something, it's always better to go back to earlier lessons. No need to be perfect! No pressure! It’s very important to be patient and work hard."
