Should I learn all the Music Theory videos before moving on past foundations 1 and 2? Trouble knowing which music theory videos are crucial to the videos in the lesson order.
Also, is it safe to just progress in order to the lessons? Meaning that there's a logical order to how he posts?
And lastly, are all the lessons in the numerical lesson order playlist contained in the Specified playlist? Ie. Blues Lessons, Jazz Lessonss videos in the 1-12, 13-26, etc playlists?
Thanks!
The videos on Learning the Fretboard, Major scales, and Major and minor triads are important for everyone. If you have learned the material in these videos, and you would like to learn R 3 7 blues playing, for example, you should feel free to jump from Theory 3 to Blues. Eventually, you will need to come back to the Theory section.
The Theory videos on modes and scales are especially important for players who are ready to develop their improvisational skill. When you arrive at the improvisation videos, you can prepare yourself by returning to the Theory videos on modes, scales and so on.
The playlists organized by category include all the lessons in the numerical playlists. However, some categorized playlists, such as Music Theory and the Beginner Series, include many lessons that do not appear elsewhere on this site.
We believe that the playlists organized by category may provide a better learning experience than the numerical playlists. However, some of our subscribers started their Guitar Wisdom journey with these numerical playlists, and they prefer to continue in numerical order.
