Hello everyone,
I'm quite new here but I've noticed that Tomo doesn't really have any songs for beginners. That sucks cause as a beginner I have to study for months until I can get to a level where I can play some of his songs or better yet be able improvise. However, that seems very distant and I find it very hard to stay motivated when all I'm really doing with my guitar is learning triads and not being able to implent htem because I'm not good enough yet. So if you guys can me some easy songs to learn and have fun with I would really appreciate it, the more recommendations you drop the better
If I were you I would just go on YouTube and look up easy songs for beginnings on guitar because I don't really know what type of music you like ?? For example the Greatful Dead have songs that are just 2-3 chords but that doesn't matter if you don't like the dead , do you know what I mean ??
I get what you're saying, I'm mostly looking for good music in the genres that tomo teaches, like blues, jazz, funk etc. I can play songs with open chords very easily so I'm more looking for songs that have single note picking
You can find someone teaching an easy version of just about any popular classic rock song on YouTube!!
Your absolutely right too !!! You have to learn songs that YOU LIKE to stay motivated especially in the beginning!! Hope this helps Good luck !!
When I was first starting out, my live, in person guitar teacher suggested that, if I could stand it, I could learn tunes from this song book:
https://www.halleonard.com/product/699255/the-hank-williams-songbook
It wasn't (and really isn't) the style of music that I prefer, but it definitely provided an excellent starting point for my guitar journey.
It has chords, lyrics and finger picking notation.
Plus, I was amazed at how simple these songs are that sold tons of records in the 1950s. It was very popular music back then.
Once I was able to play all the way through this book, it was really easy to move on to the jazz/rock/funk that I love.
I hope this helps you along your journey.
