Would you take a look at this and see if I have it right or am missing something... In Tomo's Youtube video"Mixing Major and Minor Pentatonic scales" (People Get Ready) At about 14:06 he plays a nice lick that seems a little bit like a turn around. Can you explain...I think it starts by outlining a Bm triad and then goes back to D major pentatonic. But at 14:10 he hits an Ab on the 4th string which sounds great but isn't in the scale. I think it sounds good because the chord that it's played over is a E9 and Ab is in there. Is that right or is there something else maybe easier that I missed?
I think this wasn't part of the material he was trying to get across but it's in his solo performance and I just want to understand it.

Over a D9 the Ab essentially implies the Lydian dominant sound (mode 4 of melodic minor). Usually employed over more static dominant chords, but sounds cool here.
