Hello!
I just wanted to express my gratitude for this platform and for the great content on the YouTube channel as well, I have never been a part of a group that is so positive and have such great support from the instructor! It feels like I am truly heard and appreciated and am very lucky to be able to interact via the YouTube comments and through here as well. I could not have discovered this at a better time, I had been feeling a bit lost without a lot of direction or focus with work or for the future after finishing a large project last year. I have seen a great difference in my playing already and am excited to work more in the future on music!
I have been practicing consistently, working on ear training and learning music theory for only a couple months but have finally gotten through the proficiency test and am trying to get a full song (Brasilian Skies by Masayoshi Takanaka) transcribed and it has been a very positive experience through a winter that had felt so lonely with the pandemic. I can't wait to work through more lessons and hopefully get to a point of being able to play along with some of the lessons here and on YouTube. I also very much appreciate the tips on gear setup, I had had no idea what EQ to set my amp at and did not use my pickup selector much in the past, I also love the loop pedal and Tomo's signature picks.
