I had a question just about referring to G as i, E as vi-, C as IV, and D as V. Basically, why? I assume I should not worry about why they are referred to like that until I start going through the theory sections ? Is C ALWAYS IV? Or does that vary depending on some variable ? :)

The Roman numerals describe the notes position in relation to the root, and the upper and lower case denote if it’s major or minor. You might think of them as variables that change depending on the key.
I kind of figured this was the case. I just get confused when he shows something and refers to the notes as different numbers and I try to follow along but ultimately end up confused lol. Maybe I should just worry about what I'm not understanding in the theory playlist
Shoot I realized this morning I made a mistake in my explanation (I’m still learning, myself). Notes themselves can’t be major or minor. The lower or upper case refers to a chord in the key being major or minor (but maybe don’t worry about that yet).
Maybe another way to think about the number system is to recall that there’s seven notes in any scale (then the octave), so the I is the first note (root) of the scale, and the II is the second etc. so in the key of Cmaj, C is the I, D is the II, E is the III, etc. In the key of Gmaj, G is the I, A is the II, etc.
Hope that helps. Like I said, I’m still learning so maybe someone can correct me if I’m to giving a complete answer.
Yeah I ended up running it through my brain a few times and figured it out haha, thanks. Been playing for years but I'm one of those people who can technically play "good" but want to take it to the next level and become serious about music, and thus, here I am haha
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. You will get used to the numbers. Please watch the Theory videos, and you will begin to understand."
