Hey so I'm doing the triads vids rn and I'm seeing tomo do lead with the triads and also doing like chords then switch to triads how am I supposed to learn that?? Is there a video of how to or do I guess

These lessons, especially after the beginner's course, are more like master classes. Tomo starts at a fairly sophisticated level and moves quite fast imo. More 'external' study around his subjects is needed (at least for me).

The book 'Hacks Triads and Inversions (Tippett 2017) ' helped me to further abstract much of the triads shapes by introducing the warping of triad shapes through the B (and consequently E) tuning. That helped me a lot and prevented me to start learning triad shapes on the three highest strings, and so reducing rote learning.

Concentrate on the core teaching in each lesson and you will move in the right direction. Tomo quite often adds improvisation to videos and shows a glimpse of how to use the skills in the future.

I am not ready for much of the improvisation. I simply ignore that part and include practicing the basic skills into my daily routine. Currently working hard on Triads on all of the three-string groupings.

my approach is now more about the position of thirds and fifth around the root and how they change under influence of the B and E tuning. That gives me already all triads and their two inversions of minor and major scales, and dim and aug triads (as well as their 9 and 6 triads via the relative major/minors). Very little rote learning or string grouping left 😎.

So . . . start with Bb Blues, Bb Jazz Blues, etc. Next, you can add chromatic notes or other choices (6th, 7th, and so on) to your improvisation. Don't rush! This takes time."

Towards the end of the C major triad lesson you stated these triads can be converted to a different key signature. How is this done. I am totally lost on this subject.

I will take your recommendation and do so.

I do have a firm grasp of the C major scale and it's intervals. Same goes for the C major Triads intervals and inversions. This is not my problem

The question is how to play the C major triads in a different key IE: key of G and key of A ?

Please define the word "degree"
