So I was wondering also how do I play over chords do I play the same key the songs in and just move to the shape were the chords box is?
Or do I just nice the first chord over to the box?
Thank you!

I feel you. That's where I'm at. I want to be better at "playing the changes", note targeting and phrasing.
Yeah that amd when i play let say I'm playing some blues and the first couple of notes might sound good then i cant rlly do a thing else like I'll do a end that sounds spot on and I try to just play somthing random and it sounds like shit even though in on a scale
Yeah and same with playing different pentatonic shapes and soloing over I play something in the first shape that sounds good and I decide to go to a different shape I can't solo on a different shape I have some high spots I bend at but other than that nothing sounds good on the other shapes
yo michael, i left a comment here that might help you out: https://tomovhxtv.vhx.tv/forums/general/46865-playing-over-chords
happy to talk more if you're struggling, but i think most of the stuff just comes down to some music theory and practice. it's not an easy thing to do :)
even if you knew how to play in the different positions, it ends up sounding linear, but you gotta get through that phase first to get to tomo's level. this is where the foundations and fundamentals of music theory will help you a lot.
