I would really like tlo get lessons in songwriting!
It seems to me that just about every lesson contributes to the technical ability to write songs.
Find a chord progression that you find appealing.
Imagine a bass line that fits these chords
Imagine a melody that weaves in and out among the chords and bass line.
Find words to lay over the melody.
Repeat the above for each section.
Section A, Section B, Repeat Section A, Section C, Section A again, end with section B
This tune quite literally follows the above formula. :-)

I took a Coursera class on songwriting a few years ago. Professor Pat Pattison of Berle College of Music. It was an excellent class. He has written several books on songwriting.
