Hello, on 5:15 lesson when Tomo demonstrates minor and major 3rds. He is only playing 2 notes. He was playing these D,F (minor 3rd); then E,G, (minor 3rd); then F,A (major 3rd). So after some analyzing was he playing the C minor, B minor, and D just without the root note?
Hi JepsJP,
Since Tomo was playing C Maj I saw these as diatonic 3rds from C Maj. So I heard it as a 3rd on D-, E- & F Maj. Or I thought of it as diatonic chords without the 5ths from key of C Maj.
Just my thought.
Thanks,
Pete
Thank you! This makes more sense compared to what I was thinking. I guess I need to do extra work on learning the triads and more ear training.
