Hi,

In this lesson, what does Tomo mean when he says "all you have to do is play 3 note groups
on every string"?

I´m new to guitar and my ears are not the best but I understand how a major scale is formed (TTSTTTS).
He also talks about not memorizing shapes so after trying to play each string I realized you
must know what each string of the guitar actually is (EADGBE) and from there you apply the tone-tone semitone-tone-tone-tone-semitone jumps but back to the 3 note groups on every string, how does this correlate and how should I practice this stuff?
