Tomo Fujita Guitar Wisdom

Great youtube video for beginners! This helped me find the Twinkle Twinkle video on Guitar Wisdom, and I appreciate having a song to follow along with. A good feature in Fender Play is the availability of many songs to follow. Fender Play didn't go as deep as Guitar Wisdom, so I think Guitar Wisdom is more helpful long term. I think for me as a beginner it would be helpful to have more songs on Guitar Wisdom in the beginner series. I have found some songs outside of Guitar Wisdom and try to translate them to a Guitar Wisdom concept, and I think this is the point and advantage of learning this way on Guitar Wisdom. I think there is also something to be said for the Fender Play concept of using songs for motivation. I understand that I am learning pieces, as fundamental concepts, that I will be able to put together myself in the long term, and help to develop my own style. I think it would be helpful to add a few simple songs as a framework for concepts in the beginner series, because having a complete song is motivating.

Boubacar Traoré & Ali Farka Touré - Duna Ma Yelema (video on youtube) seems like it has guitar wisdom for beginners and advanced players alike. As a beginner how do I break this song down? I expect that is further down the road.

Thanks for your post. The challenge with lessons on specific songs is that they raise copyright issues -- issues that are handled in one way on YouTube and in another way on a private site like Guitar Wisdom. Tomo's goal (simplified version) is to teach you the elements of songs and to help you with your ear training and improvisation, so that you can create your own cover versions of your favorite songs . . . maybe with a little help from one of his YouTube lessons!

I just completed B8 Open Chords... and made up a song from the options I learned - very motivating. I was stuck because I kept trying to go too deep into details that I didn't understand. I decided, for me, it is better to move forward even if I don't understand everything.
