I didn't see a thread to answer Tomo's email question so I started this one.
I would like to vote for continuing the series. I have just started the series, but I have had the books for a few years. It is much easier to make progress when I can check in and compare my playing as well as get some guidance on what to focus on with the pieces.

Yes, please continue the series. The sight-reading series using the Leavitt books is the one thing I do with consistency. Also, havng Tomo’s video lessons to help me get through a challenging piece of music means a lot to me. I would not be able to work through the Leavitt series without him, and that’s why I became a member of Guitar Wisdom. I didn’t know there was talk about discontinuing the series, but I sure hope that doesn’t happen. Learning with the Leavitt books gives me the structure I need for learning. Please keep the series going!

Hi Rodney, That’s awesome! I just started on those two pages yesterday. I’m still spending a lot of time with pages 22, 23, and 25, trying to get the timing right and get the chords and single notes to flow more smoothly. I have all the notes and chords down, but the timing and alternate picking is causing me some grief. Some days I can play through all the pages with only a few mistakes, then other days I can’t even play a C major scale without butchering it. Ever have those days?
I keep practicing the exercises for 8th notes and rests. On page 31 we have 16th notes to look forward to! 16th notes with rests ought to be a lot of fun, huh?

Happy Friday! Isn't it such a challenge to read the single notes then play the chords, especially 5 note chords? I'm trying not to memorize the notes, but can't help it as I go over the songs. =) I do have those frustrating days! When I can't seems to hit the notes. I'm thinking, what happened? lol However, it happens even to professionals! What seems to help me is counting the beats out loud, 1 & 2 & 3, almost singing the notes hehehe then I use a metronome. You might be doing those already. Hopefully those help! =) I always try to remember Mr. Fujita's encouragement, "Be kind to Yourself" and "Don't Expect Too Fast." After practicing, you are better than you were yesterday!

Fellow sighter readers, an accidental keeps a note # or flat throughout the measure correct even if the accidental doesnt precede the note right? It is canceled in the next measure or by a natural correct?

Tomo believes that Bill Leavitt's Volume 1 is the most important book of the "Modern Method" series. Accordingly, our plan is to continue the sight-reading lessons, at least through the end of Volume 1.

I signed up to Guitar Wisdom again last night after a break and I just ordered the Leavitt book tonight, just volume 1 and planning to follow the videos as far as possible. Please continue with it!
I just subscribed yesterday to Guitar Wisdom and the sight reading course was the reason. I am having some problems with the videos lagging and hesitation. My browser it the latest version so I don't know what is wrong. Any suggestion would help. Waiting for the book to come.

Hi John! I had the same problem with lagging videos. You can change the video resolution to a lower value. Hope this helps.
Thanks Klaus , It seems my wifi isn't as strong in some areas of my home. I guess i have to get one of those extenders or whatever they are called.
Sight reading series is really good, so thank you! Really helps to build solid foundation in technique and of course in sight reading. Please keep going!
