Hi,

When watching John Mayer Instagram lives, i often see him playing chords between leadlines when playing without a backing track. This makes you sound good, even when your playing electric by yourself.

Sometimes it even sounds like the leadlines suggest the chords before he plays them.

I wonder what thought process you need to have when improvising like this. Any ideas? Maybe a future lesson idea?

If you learn and practice these, you can apply them to any chord progression that you like. It's all about preparation. When you play solo, you need to know where you are at all times."
