Hello everyone. I'm new to guitar wisdom and have been watching through the "Foundation & Technique 1" series, I now understand that Mr. Fujita teaches to learn by the sound of intervals when it comes to scales and to not learn the shapes. I totally understand why this is important but I'm like an intermediate player who's memorized all the shapes. They're burned in my brain.
Any advice on how to go from here? I want to re-learn the scales through sound instead of shapes but I'm having trouble because of my memory of the shapes. Or maybe even combine the two types of understandings of scales, shapes and sound, but I want to have more of the ability to go by the sound.
