Does the Slap technique work better on a Strat or any style guitar?

"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. You can play slap guitar with any guitar, but a Stratocaster is a little bit easier to play this way. When you hit the 6th string (Low E) with your right hand thumb, hit the string near the end of the neck, so that you do not cause the string to hit a pickup."

Which end of the neck? towards the nut or towards the bridge? Pardon me if this is a inefficient question.
