Tomo has inspired me to buy a vintage duo sonic. I read in a Seymour Duncan article that the magnets in the early Duo Sonic and Musicmaster pickups are .625″ long and the early diameter was .197″ until the late 50s, then they were a .187″ diameter. Does anyone have experience with the difference in the two sounds? If so which do you prefer?
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. I spoke with Seymour Duncan about vintage Duo Sonics at the NAMM show a few years ago. He loves the tone of those pickups. I do, too. I don’t know all the detailed specs, but I love vintage Duo Sonic and Musicmaster guitars from 1956 to 1964 (22.5 inch neck). If you buy a vintage Duo Sonic, I highly recommend finding one that is all original."
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to comment!
