Hi,
My take away is that you can play a I Dim 7th arpeggio ( A Dim 7 for this lesson) on bar 6 and/or bar 10, or bar 12, because it leads to the I chord:
I IV I I
IV IV I I
V IV I V
It sounds great and you're always playing the I Dim 7th arpeggio. It's not a IV Dim 7th, it's always the I Dim 7th, correct?
Thanks,
DIno
Hey John - from my understanding you can play diminished on any bar before a one chord because it wants to resolve. So you can potentially play it over the first 3 bars as well.
As for the #IV dim 7 it’s played on the 6th bar in the backing track (but if it’s a regular IV you can imply a #IV dim 7 with the notes you choose to play). You might have already noticed that a dim 7 is symmetrical 4 note chord. Eg. #IV dim 7 is equal to I dim 7 (also equal to iii dim 7 and vi dim 7). All have the same 4 notes 1(a) 3b(c) 5b(eb) 7bb(gb).
