Instead of amp what else can be used with your electric guitar to give you power? Not talking about pedals. Thank you!
What else can be used when you can't use the amp w
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Try plugging into a vintage cassette tape reorder with a mini plug. Or it may be possible to use your computer. Maybe some other subscribers have suggestions. Anyone?"
I like these small headphone amps like the Vox plugs, they are very cheap and available since ever.
There is also a boss waza headphone. I think they are pretty well, but a bit expensive.
What's wrong with an amp?
It would be good to give a bit more context around your situation on why you cannot use an amp. Is it because of volume? space constraints? mobility?
There is a $25-35 dollar option on Amazon called “Valeton Rushead Max USB Chargable Portable Pocket Guitar”
I use this for quiet practice with headphones, no additional amp required. Vox has an equivalent that I hear has a good “clean” tone. I got the Valeton because it has a distortion and over drive mode.
If you get something like that I would get a male to female 1/4” cable so the tiny amp does not have to hang off the back of the guitar. It will help the unit last longer and it will be easier to adjust while playing. Best part is they also have an auxiliary in. Perfect for plugging a metronome in. Full practice quietly!
Another option is Boss “Dr Beats” metronome that has a guitar input and headphone jack. A all in one basic guitar practice device. I paid $90 used, but there are other models that do the same thing. Just look for a instrument input jack.
You can try buying an usb interface. Then you'd be able to connect your guitar with your computer, where you would be able to virtually amplify and record your guitar signal. Many free amp sims are available in the internet right now.

This is an affordable but good usb interface.
