Hi everyone, I just joined the community. I have been playing flamenco guitar many years professionally, I am struggling with the muting technique because I am using a flamenco/classical guitar and the neck is really thick, for instance: no way I can mute the open 6th string with my thumb while playing an open C chord, I am afraid I will hurt myself if I keep trying. Also problem with A or B flat blues if I try to mute the open 6th string. Any ideas, anybody?I would truly appreciate any advice. Maybe it’s just not possible to do that with a classical guitar?
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. Maybe you could place your finger on the 5th string close to the 6th string to mute by touching it gently. For a Bb7 chord, use fingers 2 3 4, so that you can use your 1st finger to mute the other strings.".
Thank you so much for your reply Tomo sensei. I will try that.
