I have been working on my triads and found V lV vi V progression to be a smooth easy beginner friendly one to practice that incorporates major and minor triads. Has a nice grateful dead D mixolydian feel to it as well.

It tends to work better if you approach it as a mixolydian I bVII ii I. This is because the tonal center is revolving around the V chord. This could also help when coming up with a melody if your ear doesn’t hear Ionian.
As far as i I know from research, and listening to music through the years it’s not a very common progression. This could be a way for you to really be unique. It sounds so familiar!
