Hi everyone,
I noticed that when I was practicing triads on the top 3 strings that the "E-shape" triad was always in the Mi-So-Do interval. Furthermore the "D-shape" triad was always in the So-Do-Mi interval and the same can be said with the "A-shape" triad which was always in the Do-Mi-So interval.
I've checked this for 3 chords C, G, and F and it holds out to be true.
I was wondering if what I "discovered" is actually true? Can anyone confirm for me please? Thank you in Advance.
Hi,
It’s true if you are in standard tuning as there are only three triad shapes on the top three strings. They are the same for every chord in major. However, you don’t want to memorize the shape, only the sound until you can naturally find them on the guitar.
Tomo has a couple videos that delve deeper into the topic if you need more information 💯. You can type “triads” in the search function. Have a blessed day!
Hi Brandon,
Thanks for the tips. Much appreciated.
