Hello Mr. Fujita and students..!
I just now subscribed to the course.
I have a lot of experience over the years playing bass in local bands…(blues and rock covers mostly) and recently tried learning six string guitar on my own in the UTube jungle..!
I always learned my bass lines by ear and finding out the chords to the songs.
My question is…Do I need to learn to read music at this time to progess in the course?
Thanks..!
Here is Tomo's comment:
"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. I love listening to good bass playing! Sight-reading is another way to communicate in music. So, it's good to learn sight-reading, if you are willing to do it. Many Guitar Wisdom subscribers are really enjoying the lessons in the Sight Reading Series."
I don’t mean to be morbid.. but I’m 67 years old… and I’m just not sure if I want to spend the precious time that I have on this Planet trying to learn sight reading..especially if I can play satisfying blues guitar with only learning theory… and not sight reading… lol..
But I’m going to give it an honest effort to see how well ( or not) that I can pick it up..
Thanks for your response to my question..
I’m definitely enjoying my lessons so far..!
