Tomo Fujita Guitar Wisdom

As Tomo always says I considered buying a tube amp such as blues junior but I felt like it might be too loud for my apartment and I also want to practice at night with headphones so I was just wondering how people think about the amp from YAMAHA called thr10ii.

Also if I'm interested in this tube amp from Laney called cub super 12r as it can swap between 15W and 1W so might work for home use. If anyone has this amp and is happy to share the experience, it is much appreciated. Thank you so much :)

I have a THR 10ii, it's fantastic. It is basically the perfect home amp for getting decent tones at low volume. If you get the wireless version you can even put it in your living room and play guitar on the couch (not that this promotes good posture!). Or you can put batteries in it and sit on your porch and play.
At home I usually play between 60-70db and it works well. They say if you need to raise your voice to be heard over the instrument it's too loud, for daily practice anyway.

I recently picked up a VHT Special 6 at the recommendation of my guitar tech. Perfect amp for an apartment player! High Power setting does 6 Watts and the Low Power does 2 Watts. Very simple controls only two knobs volume and tone, honestly that's all you need! Takes pedals well and tubes can be swapped easily. I went with the regular Special 6 over the "Ultra" model because it has a 10 inch speaker whereas the Ultra has a 12 inch speaker. I was looking for a Blues Jr. used and found this VHT used for about $200-$300 cheaper than the Fender. Couldn't be happier with it!

The one caveat here for you is this amp doesn't have a headphone jack.

Hi Tomo, is this type of 12watt amp too loud for a small city apartment usage? for eg, 1000 square feet
