Hi Tomo,
I've been enjoying Guitar Wisdom for about 2 years now and it has helped me grow a lot as a guitarist. I very much appreciate the Jazz Standards series, it's been very helpful in my entry into jazz guitar and improvisation.
I have a question about the video for All The Things You Are. When watching your lessons, I usually try to figure out the vocabulary you are using while improvising. In this one, most of it makes sense to me and I can see how it relates to the harmony.
However, one part is confusing me. at 12:15, going from the Eb7 to the Amaj7 you first play an arpeggio from the 3rd with a b9 and a #9. But when you move to the Amaj7, you get to the Eb note from a D and an F. Where do these two notes come from? are they a kind of enclosure for the 5th of the Abmaj7 chord? Or are you thinking of them as the #11 and 13? Either way, they seem more related to the Abmaj7 than the Eb7, is that correct?
Thanks again for all the wisdom, looking forward to continuing the journey.
Best,
Sean
