Tomo stresses a lot to listen to a lot of music actively, without distractions.
Obviously, taste is wholly subjective, but I'd just personally like to know what Tomo would classify as "must listen"? Any recommendations for cool chord progressions, unusual rhythms, classics etc?

Not quite sure what kind of music your into but I think certain types of music can get your ear familiar with certain types of progressions/scales which can make it much more easy to play it, I’d definitely give the Grateful Dead a listen for learning to hear the mixolydian sound as I would Santana for Dorian. Also if you’re interested in jazz at all I’d recommend Grant Greens sessions with Sonny Clark and Born to be Blue, Charlie a Parker is also an essential listen.
