Tomo Fujita Guitar Wisdom

Greetings all! I'm a new member...this is an amazing place to spend my days! I greatly appreciate the wealth stream of knowledge that is available here! My intent is to go slow...be intentional.. and really dig in..

My question..I guess..is about an aim I guess..like...how many hours of practice time per day is optimal to be of a pro status??

My mom had gotten me a guitar many years ago...thinking she had got me a bass guitar... She got me a Starcaster by Fender starter kit...so I sat down with it one day...unplugged... And just started strumming to my hearts content...didn't know a chord..a lick..a note...but I heard a sowwwnd...and when I stopped I literally felt like electricity was flowing through my fingers... And I knew from that point on that I would learn this instrument and that I would play for the rest of my life...it hasn't been a straight line by any means...but here I am..still on this journey..

And still i press on towards the mark...being the musician that I believe I can be in my heart! To be able to sing the song of my heart!

"Thanks for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. To be a pro, or to be a great guitarist, you will need to spend many hours of good quality practice time. The way that you practice is much more important than the number of hours. So, please don’t think only about the amount of practice time. Do as much as you can. At the same time, you need to listen to music deeply! Try listening to only 3 albums for 90 days or more! Study as much as you want to. Just don’t think too much. Start with one hour of practice each day. If you can do more -- 2, 3 or even 4 hours -- that's amazing!"
