At 8:48, does Tomo have in mind a specific scale when playing the lick over G-7? I am trying to place it in either G harmonic minor or G melodic minor. Seems like it might just have the general G minor sound, and the change of direction and the chromatic passing note of B natural in the makes it sound more sophisticated and cool.

"Thanks for your post. In this song, G-7 is the ii minor chord, so you can play Dorian, melodic minor, chord tones, etc. I like to add chromatic notes and interesting rhythmic elements. It's always good to work on adding these to your playing."
