Hey Benjamin
Good job on being creative with the lesson content, I think in general it's a great way to engage with the material and to really understand from the songwriter's perspective in that way (from the "inside", if that makes sense). Your song is recorded a bit quiet to be honest, so it's hard to comment your effort, because your voice is a bit drowned out and so I can't hear the lyrics. From what I can tell, the melody you created, sounds good and is an original melody. Perhaps a tip to make your song more interesting: try to create contrast. Contrast is what will keep your listener interested. Now, somewhere midway, I lost interest a little. Contrast can be created for instance by: short notes (verse) - long notes (chorus), lower notes (verse) - higher notes (chorus), less energy (verse) - more energy (chorus), etc. All of these contrasts I mentioned can be reversed (with regards to verse-chorus) of course too. Congratulations on being so brave to share your own creation here. I believe it shows courage and it will also help you grow by sharing. We're all on a path to become better musicians when we're willing to share our work and share our thoughts and knowledge. "Keep writing fearlessly" (-> inspired by Pat Pattison, one of my great examples and mentors for lyric writing). Thank you for sharing.
