Can Tomo add a lesson on Summertime?
thanks
H
Thank you for sharing!
Eventually I will add more song.
Thank you!
Pretty much minor blues!
"Summertime" is not on the Guitar Wisdom schedule, but you can find the sheet music at halleonard.com and elsewhere.
Quick update: a lesson on "Summertime" is included in the soon-to-be-published "Berklee Essential Guitar Songbook." Watch for the release of this book at berkleepress.com or halleonard.com over the next two or three months.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks George!
I have three Berklee Press Books.
A Modern Method for Guitar Vol. 1- Leavitt
A Modern Method for Guitar Jazz Songbook Vol. 1- Leavitt
Berklee Blues Guitar Songbook- Michael Williams.
I'm currently deeply absorbing Guitar Wisdom by Tomo Fujita :-)
Kurt
Ella and Louie.
So many beautiful lines here.
Imagining them playing together on guitar.
Inspiring.
Just offering this as a hand on the shoulder of my big bro Kurt, in truth, empathy, compassion on the path.
Kurt, how about we go snowboarding on different mountains? It doesn’t matter when, just when it’s fun and feels good for you, that’s all that matters, from my perspective. Play with your friends. I will play with who I can find here. Both is ok!
Or not. Not a competition. All paths good.
The shutdown stopped the world, all of us still processing it, I feel.
Been listening, since my last post.
The practice and the not-practice…Louie reminds me of over the rainbow. Ella’s voice is pure. Like glass, right? Just been holding my guitar through reps. I hear F#-E-F#…everything seems to build off this.
I don’t know how to do what you are doing,
how are you doing it. Longest path is the shortest path here. My god, I’ve become my mother…which is pretty awesome :)

Thank you, Sunil!
I went skiing once- When I was 5 years old. I liked the hot chocolate but never went back :-)
LOTS of Rainbow info. Thank you!
I kept waiting for that scientist to tell us how to find the Pot o' Gold!
Over The Rainbow is sublime. I had to find out more about Braddah IZ. Love that uke! Tomo is a great uke player too.
His Hawaiian name, Kaʻanoʻi Kamakawiwoʻole, translates to “the fearless eye, the bold face.”
Born: May 20, 1959, in Honolulu, Hawaii
Died: June 26, 1997, at age 38, also in Honolulu.
Known affectionately as “Braddah IZ”
My all-time favorite version of Over the Rainbow is by Linda Mae Tucker from Texas with her beautiful AZES31
Kurt
You are my supermind big bro.

Very very sweet version indeed!
Tomo
Hey that’s OUR Linda!
I didn’t know big bro!!
That was beautiful Linda!!!
You seemed so relaxed, and I loved the gesture at the end! An offering to those on the path!! Thank you, most sincerely!
Kurt, I’ve loved these songs for a long time.
Yeah man, IZ.
First heard IZ when I watched “Finding Forrester”.
I think I was working at Adobe then.
For a while, I was getting any job I applied for, salary actually grew exponentially (doubled) for a few years.
I was a minor hero in my own mind of the SVG, and Photoshop Album teams. That’s right you’ve never heard of “Photoshop Album” because iPhoto was released a few months earlier hahahahaha.
They call all the engineers geniuses (our team lead was Bruce Kaskel, he earned the Ph.D Mathematics at UC Berkeley, he discusses elliptic curves in his dissertation…our manager is Paton Lewis, he studied Philosophy and then Computer Science at Brown…ok actual geniuses…) but it was like false adulation I thought for us all. When 9/11 hit, economy tanked, then Boom…the youngest past genius of the team is now walked out of the building with guards, no money, no one calling me a f***ing genius.
Shilpa was making sandwiches then. Together for 3 years. Tight, and just honest. She is like me, not-me.
We get married in Kauai because I love it. And Shilpa loves it too. We’re there because my parents loved it too. The vegetation and the water and the people are almost the same as Kerala. That was 2002, we see Steve Kimock there because he just released Eudemonic. I think my sister and her bf find out about it, he likes guitar…they even get married at the lighthouse because of us and history and family and just being there…they get their marriage license at the Ono Fish Market.
Shilpa decided to go back to school at UCSD, I go with her and watch surfers, sometimes at dawn or dusk…
Yeah. So I love those songs about rainbows, miracles, and when the underdog rises.
